WASHINGTON (Reuters) – There’s no sign of a family reunion planned, but U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama are distant cousins.
So says the vice president’s wife, Lynne Cheney, who said she discovered that her husband of 43 years is eighth cousins with the senator from Illinois.
The two men could hardly be more different. Cheney is an advocate for pursuing the war in Iraq to try to stabilize the country, while Obama wants to get U.S. troops out of Iraq. — read full article here

Has anyone really verified this or could it be another attempt from a neocon to discredit Obama, since the masses hate Cheney, and who would want to be related, even distantly to that!

You make a good point Larry, I never would have thought about it that way. When you put it that way…Who do you think could be a distant relative to Cheney??? I have a couple ideas, but I wouldn’t want to go “on record” with what I’m thinking.

Cheney obviously comes from a pool of evil genes, possible an Adolph comes to mind since both enjoy the torture of innocent people, and both like Bush are driven with a desire to control the world.

Hi I was just turned on to your site because we are like minded and I am interested. I will keep checking it out. I just noticed Larry questioned the validity of the story about Obama and I haven’t heard it verified worse is that he is also a distant relative of Bush’s or so they say. The relationship is supposedly from 17th century Virginia. Like Obama says, those are the black sheep of the family.
