A List Of Over 100 275 Women Blogging On Politics — by Catherine Morgan
**AS OF TODAY, DECEMBER 6TH…I WILL BE UPDATING THIS LIST HERE (I’ve managed to have three lists, but since so many people, keeping them all up to date is becoming too time consuming). SO, FOR THE MOST UP TO DATE LIST GO HERE. Thanks.
Answering the question…Where are all the women political bloggers? I decided to take some time today and surf the Internet for as many women blogging on politics that I could find. The refreshing thing about women political bloggers is their diversity.
UPDATE: We now have over 275 women bloggers on this list. Thanks to everyone sending me links, keep them coming.
CHECK OUT MY NEWEST BLOG…The Political Voices of Women
We also have a community now too, I hope you will consider joining us…
Women, Politics, and the Internet — Katharine Q. Seelye
We know that women slightly outnumber men online. But at least anecdotally, it seems as if more men are on the political blogs, writing specifically about politics, reading about politics and putting in their two cents in the comments sections. Did you notice how many more men compared to women submitted videos for the Democratic YouTube debate in July? The pool of videos for the upcoming Republican YouTube debate is similarly stocked with more men.
Women In Media & News, a media analysis, education and advocacy group, works to increase women’s presence and power in the public debate. WIMN’s POWER Sources Project provides journalists with a diverse network of female experts.
List is now in alphabetical order. If you would like something added to your link, or you would like your blog added to this list…just say so in comments. Thanks.
Political Voices of over 375 Women Bloggers — by Catherine Morgan

Are you on the list? If not, please leave me your link in comments, so I can add your blog. And, if you would like to be a guest blogger on The Political Voices of Women with a guest post, please join our community.
I hope you’ll take some time and check out the women on the list…and if you blog about politics, consider adding some of these women to your blogroll, or linking to them in a post.

Great list and a wonderful resource. I would love to be on it. I blog at four poli-blogs.
The Impolitic is my own although I have recently taken on a male co-blogger.
http://theimpolitic.blogspot.com/
I also blog for group blogs:
Detroit News Politics Blog
http://info.detnews.com/weblog/bloggerbios.cfm?bloggerid=37
The Newshoggers was started by Cernig but is a partnership now. I do most of my blogging there lately and my partner Shamanic is a great writer.

The Reaction is a group owned by Michael Stickings but I post there, along with Carol Gee who’s also terrific.

I’d also put in a plug for Kathy at Liberty Street
http://libertystreetusa.blogspot.com/
And I didn’t see Mad Kane on the list.

Thanks for putting this together.

O.K. — All blogs from the above four comments have now been added to the list. Fact-esque, you were already on, just under a different name…but I fixed it.
Thanks everybody. Before you know it we’ll be at over 300 women bloggers.

Gee. I know I don’t post much, but I could be an emerita, couldn’t I?
Also, it would be a shame if you left out the mother of us all
Catherine Morgan said
Hi Julia. I added your blog to the list. However the other link you provided is from a couple of years ago, and it seems you need a password to get to the newer version of it…if that changes just let me know and I will add that one too.
Thanks Julia, I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving.

I have a sort of new blog with not too many readers so far. Someone on SquareState.net recommended people set up blogs to cover their area of Colorado, so I’m doing SE Colorado, Lamar and Prowers County specifically. I’m signed up to be an independent blogger borrowing bandwidth from ProgessNow’s offices during the Dem convention next year, which is going to be SO MUCH FUN!
Anyway, this is me. I’m going to spend some quality time with your list over the holiday, and I hope to make a few new friends!

Hi Cat. If you look at the URL, you are at the same page of 100 women blogging politics (we are just at over 250 now, so I updated it). When I backspaced over the URL you are using in your link, and took out the last part that had your blog as part of the URL, then then the post did appear. So maybe just try to re-link at your site, sorry about that. Maybe it has something to do with my editing of this post (I decided since I had so many blogs on it, I would alphabetize it).
Hope that helps. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

And Susan…I’ll add your blog to the list now. It will be here at Informed Voters, and also at “The Political Voices of Women” (link at the top of this page). Good luck with your blogging.

Thanks Catherine. I’ll be promoting the list as well as exploring the new faces I don’t know.

Thanks for adding me! Here are a couple of women’s blogs I read that aren’t on your list yet:

Wow, I’m not on your list, must be an oversight. I’ve only been blogging on politics and a few other things for five years.
Catherine Morgan said
You’ve been added to the list Ginger.

Hi everyone. The list has now reached 275 women blogging on politics. Isn’t that great!

I’ve been blogging with two great women at pacificviews.org for quite a while, and just started a new site, goldenapplepress.com, whose writers are passionate about agricultural and food policy and happen mostly to be women.
Anyway, there are clearly a lot of us, you were bound to miss bunches. But thanks for doing this, there are a lot of sites here that I’m glad to have heard about.
Catherine Morgan said
Thanks Natasha. I’ll get those blogs on the site soon. Thanks for letting me know about them.

It is vital that women participate in politics in a meaningful way. Too much is at stake for our children. As our voices are transmitted via our writing, we can experience other views and broaden our own perspectives. Blogs allow participation by a greater audience, instantaneous communication on current topics, and a continuous exchange of ideas. We have a platform from which to refute the tag of homogeneity, pinned on us by pundits as they struggle to rationalize primary results no one could predict. It is great to find an entire list of interesting reading!

Hi Catherine,
FYI, MissLaura at DailyKos has a post challenging the frequent conventional-media claim there are no women blogging about politics. I found your list in 10 seconds so… what’s their problem?
Take care,

Catherine, this is a really cool project. I’ve already enjoyed checking out the list and found an old acquaintance’s blog through it!
I blog on feminism and politics at http://kittywampus.blogspot.com/ and would be honored to be added to your list. (I’ve put your site on my blogroll; it’s a great resource.)
Warmly,

For months now, smug condescending, self righteous Obamabots have been calling for Senator Clinton to drop out. They have resorted to personal attacks, character assassination, and ugly insults, rather than addressing the issues … and, disregarding, and disrespecting the 17 million Clinton supporters, as if we don’t even exist, or don’t even count. If Obama wins the democratic nomination, II urge fellow Clinton supporters to respond by voting for John McCain in November, as well as voting the super delegates, who jumped Hillary’s ship, out of office.
marcys said
I m appalled by your suggestion, Lee, that Clinton supporters vote for McCain as well as against other Democrats. I’m just as angry as you are at the people who’ve been telling Clinton to drop out…but I intend to support whoever gets the Democratic nominamation. That’s because I’m more interested in improving our country than in getting some weird kind of revenge. It’s because I can’t stand all the suffering that’s been caused by Republican policies. If McCain is elected, he will continue them. Your intention to vote for him reveals an extremely shallow, vengeful point of view. You can be sure that Hillary Clinton won’t agree with you, that she’ll back Obama if he’s the candidate, and work her ass off for him.

Amazing- in more ways than one. With such terrific women, writers, brainpower, and willpower, this simply goes to prove that Senator Clinton was not correct in thinking she spoke with a collective voice for all women. However, if all women began to speak out individually, each with a singular voice, clear, loud and strong, can you imagine what could be accomplished? This list is a good beginning. It has taken me a while just to read what my sister bloggers have to say and finding my favorites. Thanks. This is terrific.
