Who Will Be The Chosen One? — by Patrick Britton

Looking at the political field can be pretty daunting, imaging who may
win on either side of the political playing field takes the skills of a
gambler and when it comes down to it a great guesser. You can work out
the numbers, the supporters, the amount of money raised but no matter
how you cut it there is no sure way to know who will go to the big show
down. In this post I am going to talk about the candidates that I feel
have the biggest chance of winning the elections, if you don’t see
your favorite candidate feel free to read my more expansive post on my
blog, which I will be posting soon. I don’t personally support any of
these candidates I am going to talk about but I do feel these people have
the best chances and I will explain the reasonings behind my
conclusions.

Who Will You Vote For? - This is what I think.

Posted by Catherine Morgan on July 25, 2007

Another great post from our guest blogger at coffeegrounds

coffeegrounds is a blog dedicated to all things that effect the quality of daily living…for all people. My aim is to encourage people from all walks of life to become freethinkers.

What I Think — by coffeegrounds

The only thing I don’t know for sure is, who I’m going to vote for in ‘08. There is still just too much information to decipher. But what I do know for sure is, I don’t know nearly enough.

I’m really frustrated with the information that is being put out there by the candidates who are currently running for President in ‘08. Any information that the candidates give is rehearsed, generic, owned by someone else, and given without any feeling of obligation of having to carry it out if elected president.

Video Recap of CNN/YouTube Democratic Debate

Posted by Catherine Morgan on July 24, 2007

Video Recap of CNN/YouTube Democratic Debate

I don’t know about you, but I was pleasantly surprised by this debate. When I first heard about it, I wasn’t real sure if they could pull it off. But, Anderson Cooper was great! And the candidates (for the most part) didn’t pull their normal “dodge the question” rhetoric. All but a few of the YouTube questions were relevant and important to the debate, and the longer format made for a much more relaxed atmosphere. I actually enjoyed watching it, which may be a first for me. I also had fun participating in a “live” blogging of the debate at BlogHer.

The Revolving Door To Prison

Posted by Catherine Morgan on July 23, 2007

Hi everyone. This week I will be having a couple of guest bloggers, that have written some great posts. I hope you enjoy.

Todays guest blogger is Carol, you can see more from Carol at her blog…”My View of It“.

The Revolving Door To Prison

Today’s American prison system creates a “revolving door” – inmates are released without any job prospects and in most cases, without any place to go. No one will hire an ex-con, especially one who has been convicted of murder, rape, etc. Released convicts therefore resort to living on the streets — increasing the crime rate and lowering property values. This is a common fact.

The NIE Report — Another Example of How The Media Cannot Be Trusted To Report The Truth To The American People

The NIE Report — Another Example of How The Media Cannot Be Trusted To Report The Truth To The American People — by Catherine Morgan

This National Intelligence Estimate (released this week and written by the nation’s top intelligence officers) is intended as a best guess of our biggest worries. … It warns that a tribal area in Pakistan has become a safe haven for terrorists. … It suggests that Hezbollah may be more likely to consider attacking the United States. And that violent Islamic extremists inside the USA may become ’sufficiently radicalized that they will view the use of violence here as legitimate.’ — read more

The NIE report that came out earlier this week, is more evidence that Bush has failed in his attempt to keep America safe from terrorism by fighting in Iraq. The war in Iraq has proven to have increased the terror threat that we face at home, not reduce it.

Iraqi Parliament Take Off For Summer Vacation

Wow, those Iraqi Parliamentarians have the right idea–take off the entire month of August! I realize that that was a huge sacrifice on their parts–originally they were planning to take off two months, July and August. Dick Cheney’s powers of persuasion really, really worked this time. He cut their vacation time in half. Good job, Dick.

UPDATED: Is The United States Ready For A Woman President?

Posted by Catherine Morgan on July 12, 2007

Add Women, CHANGE POLITICS.

The White House Project, a national, nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization (501c3), aims to advance women’s leadership in all communities and sectors, up to the U.S. presidency. By filling the leadership pipeline with a richly diverse, critical mass of women, we make American institutions, businesses and government truly representative. Through multi-platform programs, The White House Project creates a culture where America’s most valuable untapped resource—women—can succeed in all realms.

To advance this mission, The White House Project strives to support women and the issues that allow women to lead in their own lives and in the world. When women leaders bring their voices, vision and leadership to the table alongside men, the debate is more robust and the policy is more inclusive and sustainable. By supporting women and the values that allow women to succeed—the full range of health options, security platforms that utilize all our resources, economic stability for all—we work to create an equitable culture.
