Are Newly Elected Democrats Going To Cave To White House Pressure Regarding Iraq?
WASHINGTON - A memo from a top House Democrat says party leaders must not yield to White House pressure on Iraq and some cast President Bush as increasingly detached to public opinion.
Bush has said he will not negotiate with Democrats on legislation that would finance the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan through September if it sets an end date for the Iraq war. Holding only a narrow majority in Congress, Democrats do not have enough votes to override the president’s veto. — READ FULL ARTICLE - Top Democrats Urge Colleagues To Not Yield To White House Pressure On Iraq

As far as I’m concerned, Bush is just engaging in his usual distraction and flimflammery. The increase in troop numbers over those asked to be budgeted for and extension of their stay should tell you everything you need to know about where the President is going with policy : he’s basically dared Congress to stop him and it’s not happening.

There is a story about Bush.
While governor of Texas, it’s been said his time of the week happened to be Friday night. Not, as you might think because this meant time with the family, maybe a movie and popcorn, or time to garden or even go out for dinner.
No, for Governor Bush, Friday night happened to be the time of the week when the Huntsville, TX prison facility executed those souls on death row. Governor Bush — easily as lazy as Ronald Reagan, stayed up late and by the phone, to take the call from the Hunstville warden who would call after the execution was complete.
George Bush has always embraced death. Cruelty, death and suffering motivate him in ways the rest of us will never be able to comprehend. But then again, Bush meets the clinical definition of a sociopath.

I’m sure it never occured to any of you that George Bush Gets more insight as to what is really going on in Iraq in one morning breefing than what you will ever know. And that perhaps his decisions are based on daily facts as what is really goin on instead of what some left liberal loon is thinkin back here in the states. Which may explain why everybody who is anybody’s opinion all confirm that the surge is working. God forbid america wins this war because it wont be good for left liberal loon democrats! In my opinion George Bush will go down in history as the president who understood the nature of the threat we face today.IE: The global war on terror!! God bless our troops, God bless the USA, and god bless George Bush. Thank you Mr.Bush

I would just like to thank the troops over in Iraq. I am a future Marine, I am currently enlisted in the DEP. I know that they are laying down their lives every day and I greatly appreciate it. I really do not have anything to say about Bush. All I know is that sometimes people make mistakes and for the most part I think he has been an excellent president, it is tough being the leader of a country. But I definitely would like to thank our troops and let them know that our country is honoured to have people such as them protecting our freedom. Thank you very much.
