On one hand someone could say that the big corporate banana was truly evil. Looking away not concerned about what it’s money would be doing after it left their greedy hands. The other hand holds the point that after long term investment and really no logical geographic alternatives the corporation decided to accept being shaken down by terrorist organizations that would/could destroy their crops and kill their employees.

I heard about this. Does this mean that we must only purchase Dole brand bananas now?
Btw, sorry I didn’t answer you about smilies sooner. I got caught up in some silliness on my blog. Refer to this on the wordpress.com’s FAQ.

“In2thefray” — I have to admit, I don’t know the whole story behind this just yet. I guess I would want to know….Is there another place to get banana’s? Also….How many other products that we import are involved in similar circumstances? I guess there isn’t any place in America to grow bananas??? But what about all the other crops that corporations are buying outside of our country??? These big companies have put so many farmers out of business, just for $$$. There is just so many aspects to this story that bother me.

Hi Brent. I’m not sure what the “politically correct” response is on the whole banana thing yet. But, if you figure it out let me know.
Thanks for the smiley link. I’m going to try it right now.
