Most American’s believe history will judge President Bush poorly. What do you think?

HOW WILL HISTORY JUDGE GEORGE W. BUSH? — by Catherine Morgan

I find it interesting that when I hear the Bush administration defending their policies, especially the war in Iraq, they seem to defer to “history will be the judge”. What is that all about? I just don’t think that the; “let’s leave it up to history to judge” excuse, is a good enough reason to keep sending troops to Iraq. First are troops were fighting in Iraq because of 9/11, then weapons of mass destruction, then democracy, then terrorism, and now it seems like President Bush is having our troops continue fighting just for the sake of history “maybe” being able to make sense of the whole mess “someday”???

Why is it that the President seems more concerned with how the future will judge him, than he does with actually dealing with how his decisions affect us all right now? Isn’t history suppose to write itself? How can the President fulfill his duty to uphold the Constitution and be the leader of our country today, if he is only focused on how what he does now will effect the future? It just doesn’t seem right to me.

I would love to know how other people see this situation. Does it make sense to anyone? Does it seem right? And….How would you judge George W. Bush? Please send me your comments, I will post all that are written in a respectful manner. I know this is a heated topic, but one of my goals for this site is to show both sides that we can have meaningful debate without hating each other. If you think you are ready to do this….I would love to hear from you.
