Can we make a difference?

Posted by Catherine Morgan on January 14, 2007

We were all brought up to believe that the way we can make a difference in politics is by voting. It seems to me that more people would be voting if this was truly the case. I think the reason that most “regular” people don’t get involved with politics is because; when you scratch the surface of even just local politics, what you see can be overwhelming and even scary. Why is that? I want to use this forum to discuss issues that affect all of us, as well as things we can all do to make a difference.

I really want to talk about issues in politics in a way that is not traditionally republican or democrat. Let’s discuss the issues in a way that the average person can not only understand, but contribute to as well. No one party owns the issues, we the people of this country own the issues, and that is what I want to talk about. As a “regular” person myself, I want to help give us “regular” people a voice.

If there is an issue you would like to discuss please leave a comment. Thanks
